Blålab is a non-profit association that works for the development and renewing of Swedish theatre for children and youth. BlåLab is an performing arts lab where experiments, creativity and new ways are used to challenge, develop and find new ways for artistic creativity in Swedish performing arts for children and youth.

We work with new directors, set designers, choreographs, actors and others who wants to work within the performing arts arena for children and youth and to give them the possibility to work under professional conditions.

In BlåLab we develop projects and productions with young theatre practitioners and students newly graduated from artistic schools and universities. We want to give young practitioners the possibility to renew Swedish performing arts for children and youth. Through an artistic integrated work with directors, playwrights/dramaturgs and set designers we want to create a platform and a network and also give the opportunity to produce a performance and with the performance meet a young audience.

The artistic process and development is in focus instead of the requirement of producing ”sellable” performances. We want to help young practitioners to build bridges between their own art, their own dreams and thoughts in front of an audience of children and youth.
